Welcome to I Wool Knit!
We offer yarns and patterns that will inspire the beginner as much as the advanced knitter and crocheter. I am always on the look-out for new trends in the knitting and crochet world and will continue to add to our selection of yarns and patterns over time.

I come from a proud line of knitting and crochet enthusiasts. My grandmother used to knit ephemeral lace patterns done with the finest of yarns. My mother kept all of us warm with cosy jumpers, jackets and woollen socks. I became a passionate knitter as a young teenager and have continued to knit ever since.
In recent years there has been a real re-discovery of the art of knitting and crocheting. And there are good reasons why knitting and crocheting deserve a come-back!
Personally, I love knitting because it is a great way to relax, do something useful and be creative all at the same time. It is also a wonderful way to express your own personality through something you have made yourself. And who knows, maybe your work will turn into a family heirloom?
But there is more to it... In 2012, a major study conducted by Mayo Clinic professor of neurology and psychiatry Yonas Geda and colleagues found that there are long-term health effects from engaging in craft and other creative activities: they stimulate your mind, reduce the effects of stress-related diseases and slow cognitive decline.
So, next time you pick up your yarn and needles, remember that you are not only enjoying a great activity, you are actually doing something positive for your mental health, too!
When you put time and effort into creating something beautiful, make sure you use quality materials to work with. I love natural fibres such as wool, Merino, cotton, alpaca and silk, and our selection of yarns reflects this.
I hope you will find something to enjoy in our collection of yarns and patterns.
