White Gum Wool 5ply 0013, Quarrystone, 100g
Ethical wool from Tasmania.
White Gum Wool 5ply is a blend of 30% silk and 70% White Gum Wool Merino. It's a bulky 5-ply, due to the high loft of the Merino fibre. Silk and Merino respond different to the dye, resulting in a subtle heathered appearance.
White Gum Wool is a beautiful grown Australian yarn. The sheep are raised on a single farm in the high midlands of Tasmania by Nan Bray.
Nan's sheep graze on mostly native pastures and are kept in family groups. The sheep are not mulesed and their tails are not docked. Happy sheep - beautiful wool!
No herbicides, fertilisers, pesticides or fungicides are used in growing White Gum Wool.
White Gum Wool is made into yarn by Design Spun in New Zealand, having first been scoured by Canterbury Wool Scourers. NewMerino ® Chain of Custody certifies the sustainability and traceability of the yarn.
