The Manly Art of Knitting
Posted on
The 1972 cult-classic "The Manly Art of Knitting" by Dave Fougner was republished in 2015. Out of print for decades and sought after by many, it's re-publication is a clear sign that knitting is not only back, it is now a craft for everybody!
The 64 pages book provides a basic introduction to knitting and includes original images and illustrations from the first edition.
It also contains a range of interesting projects to knit, including a dog blanket, a wall hanging, a slipover (jumper), a beanie, and then a couple of rustic items that require the creative use of gardening tools such as a saddle blanket for your horse (knitted circularly with sharpened garden hose and “jumbo” yarn) and a rope hammock (knitted with shovel handles or pool cues and manila rope).
So, get your shovel handles out and start knitting!
