Latest Knitting Trends from the H+H Cologne
The Craft and Knitting Trade Fair H+H Cologne took place earlier this month, and it is time to have a look at the latest European knitting trends that have emerged for the 2016/17 season ahead.
The upcoming European winter season 2016/17 is dominated by dark base colours mixed with bright orange, yellow, purple and especially red.
The trend is clearly moving away from the body hugging shapes of recent years to wider flowing garments reminiscent of the late 1980s.
Shawls, cowls and wide flowing ponchos which have started to make an appearance in Australia this year continue to set the tone for the next season. Beanies in matching colours complement the outfit.
Traditional sweaters and jackets in lighter pastel colours knitted in aran and lace patterns provide an elegant counterpoint.
